Gary Housman drives strategic growth as VP of Development, bringing over 25 years of commercial real estate expertise to expand STNL’s retail project portfolio. Based in Columbia, SC, he manages all aspects of site acquisition and development/leasing while overseeing internal development teams and external brokers to build a robust project pipeline across the Southeastern United States.

Gary’s comprehensive experience spans both tenant and owner perspectives, providing unique insight into retail development dynamics. He has successfully overseen the acquisition and development of over 1.2 million square feet of retail projects, managing everything from national chain corporate approvals and site feasibility analysis to ground-up developments and multi-tenant property acquisitions.

His career includes leadership roles at prominent firms including Cantrell & Morgan, where he managed national chain relationships and tenant representation for a multi-state territory, and Woerner Equity Group, where he spent nine years directing acquisition, underwriting, and development of income-producing properties. Earlier experience includes managing partner roles at BG Commercial Real Estate and development positions at The Goodman Company, Regency Centers, and BI-LO Grocery Stores, where he developed expertise in everything from regional shopping centers to single-tenant retail developments.

Gary holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University and a BS in Finance from the University of Florida. His specialized skills include lease negotiation, market analysis, due diligence coordination and third-party consultant management.

A dedicated family man and University of Florida alumnus, Gary enjoys traveling with his family and following SEC sports. He actively volunteers at his local Presbyterian church and maintains strong community ties in both Florida and South Carolina, reflecting his commitment to the regions where he works and lives.
